Regulatory Pharmaceutical Fellow in Drug Information
Greetings! It is with great pleasure that I am able to share the experiences, lessons, and transformative mindsets gained through the teaching opportunities provided during my role as a drug information fellow in the Regulatory Pharmaceutical Fellowship with Purdue University, J&J Innovative Medicine, and the US Food and Drug Administration.
Originially from Virginia, my passion for science and education began at the College of William & Mary, where having professors who were deeply invested in both research and teaching played a major role in shaping my own interest in education. During my time there, I participated in botanical research documenting the germination stages of native Virginia flora, and conducted microbiology research involving experimentally evolved Aliivibrio fischeri. After earning my Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Chemistry minor, I went on to complete my Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.
I am currently nearing completion of the first year of a two-year drug information fellowship, during which teaching and mentoring students have been pivitol components of my own growth and transition from long-time student to professional mentor. The experiences gained from participating in the Indiana Pharmacy Teaching Certificate (IPTeC) Program have been rewarding in ways I could not have anticipated, and they have further strengthed my passion for education. I look forward to many future opportunities to teach and inspire learners both inside and outside of the lecture hall.
